The WNBA Draft Lottery will air Nov. 23 at 6:30 PM ET on ESPN, deciding which team lands the coveted No. 1 pick for the 2026 draft. (The Next)
WHY IT MATTERS: Five teamsâthe Dallas Wings, Minnesota Lynx, Seattle Storm, Washington Mystics, and Chicago Skyâhave a chance to claim that top spot. Dallas has the best odds after a 19â65 record over the last two seasons. They already have last yearâs No. 1 pick Paige Bueckers, the reigning Rookie of the Year. Whoever wins this lottery gets first dibs on college stars like Lauren Betts (UCLA), Azzi Fudd (UConn), Olivia Miles (TCU), or rising Spanish phenom Awa Fam.
2. No. 18 USC Upsets No. 9 NC State đ˛
Freshman Jazzy Davidson scored 21 points and hit the go-ahead layup with 8.2 seconds left as USC edged NC State 69â68 in the Ally Tip-Off. (ESPN)
WHY IT MATTERS: This oneâs a reminder that preseason rankings donât mean much now that games have begun. USC proved they can hang with elite teams even without JuJu Watkins, whoâs out for the season with an ACL injury. Davidsonâs performance and poise in crunch time hints that the Trojans may have Top 10 potential, even as they adapt to life without their reigning Naismith Player of the Year.
3. Tennessee Tops UT Martin in Pat Summitt Heritage Classic đ
No. 9 Tennessee defeated UT Martin 72-61 on Sunday in the Pat Summitt Heritage Classic, a matchup honoring the late coaching legend who played for the Skyhawks before leading the Lady Vols to eight national titles. (Knoxville News)
