What to Know About Women’s Basketball Today
1. UConn Is the Last Remaining Undefeated Team 🐺
Top-ranked UConn is now the only undefeated Division I women’s basketball team left in the country, sitting at 21–0 after South Carolina handed previously unbeaten Vanderbilt its first loss of the season. (Bleacher Report)
WHY IT MATTERS: This is rare territory, especially this late in the season. With just 10 games left and only one remaining matchup against a currently ranked opponent (No. 17 Tennessee), UConn has a real shot at finishing the regular season undefeated.

2. College Hoops Is Going Pro (Even More) 💼
Starting August 1, Division I programs will be allowed to add up to two uniform patches during regular-season games, opening the door to new sponsorship revenue. (ESPN)
WHY IT MATTERS: This is another big step toward fully professionalized college sports. Uniform ads were once unthinkable at this level. Now they’re a way for athletic departments to bring in more money to help fund athlete compensation. Whether you’re on board or not, the gap between amateur and pro at the DI level keeps shrinking.

3. Dominique Malonga Throws It Down 😤
Dominique Malonga threw down the first dunk of the Unrivaled season, a one-handed jam that capped a 21-point, eight-rebound performance in Breeze BC’s 75–68 win over Lunar Owls BC this past Saturday. (Seattle Sports)
WHY IT MATTERS: Malonga is just the second player to dunk in the league, following Brittney Griner last season. But with Griner closer to the later stages of her career, Malonga represents what’s next. Regular dunks add a new layer to her offensive game and force defenses to prepare for something different. (and for us, they’re fun to watch!)
