1. Team USA Gets Hungary in the World Cup Quarterfinals 🇺🇸
The World Cup quarterfinals are nearly set. Hungary beat Japan 84-63 and Germany cruised past South Korea 94-56 on Tuesday to advance, cementing the match-ups for the US and Belgium. (USA Today)
WHY IT MATTERS: Team USA will face Hungary early on Thursday at 5:30 AM ET for a spot in the semifinals. The final two quarterfinal spots are still up for grabs, with Puerto Rico facing China and Australia taking on Italy today.

2. Unrivaled Is Opening Season Three in Boston 🏀
Beantown is Unrivaled. The 3-on-3 league will open its third season at TD Garden in Boston on January 8 at 7:30pm ET, giving the league a splashy opening day outside its home base in Miami. (Unrivaled)
WHY IT MATTERS: This feels like the first real surprise of Unrivaled’s tour rollout campaign. New York made sense after last season’s successful visit, but Boston is a new market for the league and one without a WNBA team. Fans there have had a handful of Connecticut Sun games at TD Garden, but that opportunity is gone with the franchise’s move to Houston. Now they’ll get another chance to see some of the world’s best hoopers in person, this time in Unrivaled’s fast-paced 3-on-3 format.
3. Project B Is Heading to Seoul 🇰🇷
There’s movement with Project B. The new league added South Korean star Ji-hyun Park to its roster and also announced that its training camp will take place in Seoul from January 6-12, 2027. (BusinessWire)
WHY IT MATTERS: Project B has been pretty quiet on the roster front lately, so a new signing and a scheduled training camp give fans something to look forward to. Park is one of South Korea’s top players. She currently plays for the Los Angeles Sparks and just represented her country at the World Cup this month. She becomes the 16th player signed to Project B, which means the league still needs several more additions before it has enough players for competition.
A Homecoming for Veronica Burton?
Unrivaled is opening its third season in Boston, and Massachusetts native Veronica Burton helped share the news. We don’t know yet if her team Mist will be part of the games at TD Garden, but the possibility of a homecoming for Burton felt like a good reason to spotlight this Mist-inspired tee.
