What To Know About Womenâs Basketball Today
1. The Fever Have Scored 100 Points 15 Times đ¤Ż
The Indiana Fever scored 100 points for the 15th time this season in Tuesday nightâs 106-92 win over the New York Liberty, setting a new WNBA single-season record. Earlier this year, Indiana also became the first team in league history to score 100+ points in five straight games. (WNBA)
WHY IT MATTERS: Indianaâs offense has been on another level this season. The Feverâs 15 games with 100+ points are four more than the 2026 Lynx and 2023 Aces, who are tied for second with 11. And all that scoring is translating into wins. Indiana is 21-12 and currently holds the No. 4 playoff spot.
đłď¸ Do you think the Fever can get twenty 100-point games this season?

2. The SEC Schedule Is Here đ
The Southeastern Coference (SEC) released its 2026-27 womenâs basketball schedule Tuesday. Conference play begins Dec. 31 and runs through Feb. 28, followed by the SEC Tournament March 3-7 in Greenville, South Carolina.
WHY IT MATTERS: The SEC is one of the deepest conferences in womenâs college basketball, with powerhouse programs like South Carolina, Texas and LSU. Last season, a record 10 SEC teams were ranked in the AP Top 25 at the same time. So once conference play begins, there wonât be many easy nights on the schedule.

3. Mystics Surge to No. 3 in Power Rankings đ
The Washington Mystics climbed to No. 3 in CBS Sportsâ latest WNBA power rankings after putting together one of the leagueâs best recent stretches. Despite Tuesday nightâs loss to the Aces, Washington has been on fire, winning seven of its past eight games. (CBS Sports)
WHY IT MATTERS: Power rankings are different from the standings, which are based strictly on record. Theyâre more about how a team is playing right now, and seven wins in eight games has Washington moving up quickly. What makes this run especially interesting is how young Washington is. Much of its roster is made up of rookies and second-year players.
