What to Know About Women’s Basketball Today
1. UCLA Clinches Big Ten Title 🏆
Bruins fans had a good weekend. No. 2 UCLA officially clinched the Big Ten regular season championship Sunday with an 80–60 win over Wisconsin on Senior Day. (ESPN)
WHY IT MATTERS: This is the program’s first outright regular season conference championship. For a school with a storied history (think Ann Meyers), that’s a historic milestone. Their only other conference title was a shared Pac-12 crown back in 1998–99. This one belongs to them alone. Equally impressive is winning despite how tough the Big Ten conference has been this year, with seven teams ranked in the Top 25.
🗳️ Is UCLA a real national title contender?

2. Breeze & Rose Clinch Unrivaled Playoff Spots 🔒
It’s heating up in Miami. Breeze BC and Rose BC have officially locked in spots in the 2026 Unrivaled playoffs, becoming the fourth and fifth teams to punch their tickets.
WHY IT MATTERS: Rose is the reigning champion and now gets the chance to defend its title. Breeze is the expansion story. In year one, they’ve leaned fully into that “young and turnt” identity behind rising stars Paige Bueckers, Cameron Brink, Dominique Malonga, Kate Martin, and Rickea Jackson. Making the playoffs in their debut season says a lot about how quickly this group has come together.
Only one playoff spot remains. Vinyl (4–8), Hive (4–9), and Lunar Owls (3–9) are still fighting for it with less than a week left in the regular season.

3. A’ja Wilson Kicks Off First Global Nike Tour 🌍
Nike signature athlete A’ja Wilson will begin her first global tour with Nike Basketball from March 2–8, making stops in Paris, Amsterdam, London, and Berlin. (Nike)
WHY IT MATTERS: This is bigger than a brand tour. When one of the game’s biggest stars goes global, the sport goes with her. A’ja is a four-time MVP and one of the brightest faces of the WNBA. Events like this introduce new fans overseas to her shoe, her story and, by extension, the league itself. This tour is likely to help grow the international footprint of women’s basketball in a real way.
