Sorry, Chicago fans. Skylar Diggins will not return this season after missing the past eight weeks with a knee injury. The Sky and Diggins had hoped she could get back on the court before the year ended, but they’ve decided to shut her down for 2026. (The IX)
WHY IT MATTERS: It’s one more injury setback in a season full of them for Chicago, which leads the WNBA in total games missed due to injury. The encouraging part for Sky fans is that Diggins says she expects to be back in Chicago next season, giving the team a chance to see what this vet and this group can look like together when healthy.
2. Unrivaled Is Taking Its Tour on the Road 🚌
3×3 is hitting the road. Unrivaled announced plans for a bus tour to reveal the league’s 2027 tour stops. When the bus arrives in each host city, Unrivaled will announce the game details and open ticket sales that same day. (Unrivaled Basketball)
WHY IT MATTERS: Unrivaled is planning to play in eight cities outside Miami this season, up from two last year. Instead of announcing the full schedule at once, however, the league is turning each city reveal into its own local event. It’s a different way to bring the tour directly to fans, and it will be interesting to see how well the approach builds excitement and ticket sales in each market.
