What to Know About Women’s Basketball Today

1. College Teams Are Going to Summer Camp ☀️

It's that time of year for s'mores and... dead lifts. If you're a college basketball player, that is. Division I programs began summer workouts this week, welcoming incoming freshmen and returning players to campus.

WHY IT MATTERS: For many teams, this is the first chance to start building chemistry before the season arrives. That's especially important for programs that added transfers, freshmen, and other new faces during the offseason. New teammates are learning how to play together, freshmen are getting their first taste of college basketball, and coaches are beginning to shape next season's identity. You can also expect plenty of behind-the-scenes content, as many programs now treat summer workouts as a major moment on their marketing calendar.

2. Angel Reese Keeps Cleaning the Glass 👑

New team, same game. Angel Reese is having no trouble adjusting to life in Atlanta, starting off hot by averaging a double-double this season. She is averaging 13.6 points and 12.2 rebounds per game, and just broke a new rebounding record. (Yahoo Sports)

WHY IT MATTERS: The former No. 7 overall pick has quickly established herself as one of the more impactful players in the game. Reese now has 957 rebounds through her first 75 WNBA games, the most by any player in league history. That's 107 more than the previous record held by Tina Charles. She's also been a major reason for Atlanta's strong start and is making a strong case for a third straight All-Star selection.

3. WNBA All-Star Voting Opens Today 🗳️

Who should be an All-Star this season? It's officially time for fans to start making their picks. Voting for the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game opens today, giving fans a chance to help decide who earns a spot on this year's roster.

WHY IT MATTERS: Fan voting accounts for 50% of the final selection process, making it the biggest factor in determining this year's All-Stars. If there's a player you think deserves more recognition, now is the time to help make it happen. Every vote carries weight.
