What to Know About Women’s Basketball Today
1. Dallas Is Back in the Playoffs 🪽
The Dallas Wings are headed back to the playoffs after Tuesday’s win over the Portland Fire. It’s their first postseason trip since 2023, and the win also set a new Wings record for most victories in a regular season. Portland was eliminated with the loss. (Bleacher Report)
WHY IT MATTERS: With at least five games left for every team, we already know which eight teams will make the playoffs. Now it’s all about where they finish, with playoff seeding and home-court advantage still up for grabs. And don’t count out the eliminated teams, who can still shake things up by beating a team fighting for position.
For Dallas, this is quite a turnaround. The Wings finished last in the WNBA standings a year ago and are now headed back to the playoffs.

2. Angel Reese Breaks Two Rebounding Records 💪
Angel Reese broke the WNBA single-season rebounding record in Monday’s win over the Sparks and now has 458 boards and counting. She also grabbed 26 rebounds in the game, setting a new WNBA single-game record. (CBS Sports)
WHY IT MATTERS: Reese is only three seasons into her WNBA career and is already putting herself among the best rebounders the league has seen. She passed A’ja Wilson’s season record of 451 rebounds from 2024, and with six games left, Reese could become the first player to reach 500 rebounds in a season.
Her 26-rebound game also broke a record that had stood for 23 years. Chamique Holdsclaw had held the mark with 24 rebounds since 2003.
3. Janelle Salaün Sets a Bench-Scoring Record 👏
Golden State Valkyries forward Janelle Salaün has set a new WNBA record for the most points off the bench in a season, with 470 and counting. (High Post Hoops)
WHY IT MATTERS: Salaün is making a strong case for Sixth Player of the Year. Even though she comes off the bench, she’s the second-leading scorer for the second-place Valkyries at 13.1 points per game while shooting 39% from three. She made the All-Rookie team in her WNBA debut last season. Now, in year two, she’s taken another big step.

Tina in the Rafters: The Connecticut Sun honored Tina Charles as a Sun Legend and retired her No. 31 jersey last night.
Players of the Week: Angel Reese and A’ja Wilson were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week. It’s the third time Reese has earned the honor and the 32nd for Wilson.
🗳️ Poll Results from Yesterday: We asked if another team will sign DeWanna Bonner for a 2026 playoff run, and you were pretty split. 40% said it’s too late in the season, while 30% said maybe and another 30% think her playoff experience could make her worth signing.
