What to Know About Womenās Basketball Today
1. Chelsea Gray Is Setting the Tone in Unrivaled š
Chelsea Gray, aka āThe Point Gawdā, is off to a dominant start in Unrivaled this season, leading Rose BC to a perfect 3ā0 record. Through three games, the four-time WNBA champion leads the league in several categories. (Unrivaled Leaderboard)
WHY IT MATTERS: Rose BC is the only undefeated team in the league right now, and Gray is the reason why. She leads Unrivaled in scoring at 31.7 points per game and made threes at 5.3 per game, ranks third in assists, sits top-five in steals, and already has two game-winners. Early season or not, this has been a reminder of just how complete her game still is.

2. Aāja Wilson & Angel Reese Join New Animated Film š¬
Aāja Wilson and Angel Reese are officially headed to the movies. The WNBA stars have joined the cast of GOAT, a new animated family film produced by and starring Stephen Curry. (USA Today)
WHY IT MATTERS: This is Wilsonās first film role, and Reeseās second appearance on the big screen. Womenās basketball players continue to show up across pop culture, and a family-friendly animated movie puts them in front of a whole new, younger audience. For some kids, this might be their very first introduction to these players.
GOAT is scheduled to release on February 13, 2026.

3. NCAA Shortens Transfer Portal Window to 15 Days ā³
The NCAA made an impactful rule update this week, approving a shorter transfer portal window for both menās and womenās basketball. The new window will be 15 days long and open following the national championship games. (Yahoo Sports)
WHY IT MATTERS: This is now the third change to the transfer portal timeline since its introduction in 2022, which tells you how hard itās been to get right. Coaches have been vocal about longer windows making roster management messy and unpredictable. A shorter window wonāt fix everything, but it could bring a little more order to a process thatās felt chaotic for everyone involved.
