What to Know About Women’s Basketball Today
1. Audi Crooks Commits to Oklahoma State 🤠
Audi Crooks is officially changing zip codes. The former Iowa State star and No. 1 player in the transfer portal is headed to Oklahoma State for her senior season, staying in the Big 12. (CBS Sports)
WHY IT MATTERS: Oklahoma State quietly had a strong year this past season, going 24–10 and reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Now they add one of the most dominant interior scorers in the country. Crooks immediately raises their ceiling and puts them firmly in the conversation as a Big 12 title contender.
🗳️ Does Audi Crooks make Oklahoma State a Big 12 favorite?

2. Two Injuries to Watch Early 🩼
We’ve got a couple of early injury updates to keep an eye on. Seattle’s Ezi Magbegor will miss the start of the season with a foot injury, while Atlanta’s Brionna Jones will also be sidelined after recently undergoing right knee surgery. (ESPN)
WHY IT MATTERS: Seattle already had a tough offseason, losing multiple All-Star caliber players. That makes four-time All-Defensive player Magbegor even more important to their squad, and missing her for the first six to eight weeks of the season could put them behind early. For Atlanta, Jones is equally important, bringing size, strength, and experience. There is no timeline for her return, shifting additional pressure onto new teammate Angel Reese to hold down the front court.

3. Mabrey Sisters Reunite in Toronto ❤️
Talk about a family reunion. Dara Mabrey has signed a rookie contract with the Toronto Tempo, joining her sister Marina Mabrey at training camp.
WHY IT MATTERS: You don’t see this often in the WNBA. Two sisters getting the chance to share the same roster is special, and it’s a fun storyline to follow in camp. It also highlights something bigger. Expansion is opening up more opportunities, giving players like Dara a real shot to earn a spot in the most exclusive and coveted league in the sport.
